IN A FORGOTTEN CORNER

In a forgotten corner of my garden
is a little treasure to the eye,
I happened on it just by chance
as one day I was passing by.

A little bucket, covered with rust
sitting forlornly in the shade,
Was filled with petals bright;
Oh, what a sight it made!

A twist of ribbons hung
on the handle, mixing red and gold,
Trailing down to fall upon
the petals, blue and bold.

Forget-me-nots grew and seemed to say
that we should not pass without a glance,
For some of life's best moments
happen - only just by chance.
