What do you need when you face your pain?
I want to take you in my arms and hold you.
I need to reassure you and tell you everything will be fine.
I want this for me and never for you.
I need to be the hero of old,
The knight in shining armor riding to save the damsel in distress.
Never again!
The pain you suffer must be forevermore your own.
I will never be able to defend you from that which is inside of you.
You must be the one to stand and fight.
Suffer if you must, but this I can tell you: Pain is the fire where your soul is forged. Once you have surpassed this test you will turn around and see it never was what you needed.
It probably was, I'm sure, what you wanted, but never what you needed.
I can never again be the knight.
You must face your own battles to come.
Nevertheless, I CAN be a guiding hand in the path that lies ahead.
Go forth and forge your own Destiny.
This can NEVER be taken from you.
