please read an let me know what you think! its a personal poem for the soldiers
This is for all the troops who are fighting this war and also for the troops who have lost their lives for the fight of freedom against terrorism.

I knew then what I know now,
afraid to admit the pain I felt.
You left me here on a cold, spring night;
what was I to do?
I cried every night, hoping the word wasn’t true,
but that’s when I saw them--the men in dress blues.
You promised you’d be home in no time,
But you lied to me.
How could you leave me all alone?
I try to understand, but I can’t let you go.
They called you a hero.
Said you did your best.
You’re my knight in shining armor for all the rest.
You'll always be in my heart.
I’ll never forget the sweet, soft kisses and silent nights.
The world will remember all you did,
for you are my trooper who fought till the end.
Don’t forget me or how things were,
for I’ll always remember your heart at will.
As much as it hurts me, I must let you go.
Untill we meet again in the skies above.
Fight the war and fight for what we lost,
I’ll still be here waiting with open arms.
