waiting for a miscarriage to complete
The Tomb

I am a tomb of flesh and blood
sealed tightly,
waiting only the tedious
passing of hours
'til death's last duties be discharged.

Who will roll the stone away
so I may cry and hold
and touch the one
who rests within?

I cannot comprehend this.
Like Babel,
I am confounded.

The promised dawn stretches
an eternity
away from me
while I wait
and wait.
