I am who I want you to see.
There are pieces of me that I like
And pieces of me I’d rather not be.
But the pieces I choose to accept,
I usually let others see.

Some might call it dishonest
Saying ‘To thine own self be true.’
But the pieces of me that I purposely hide
Might be a repellant to you.

So the pieces of me that most people see
Are what make me look my best.
And the pieces of me of which I am not proud,
Are the pieces I strive to suppress.
