A glance at a wasted life and at one lived.
No one knows what it's like
for a man to stand and gaze
over the moon-scape of a wasted life,
one untouched by love's warming rays.

A heavy heart may beat in his chest,
but that doesn't mean life is real,
only that death's final call
has not yet rung its peal.

My dreams? They aren't as empty.
In fact I look upon a view
of meadows filled with flowers,
though thorns exist, more than a few.

The sun peeps over wooded hills,
caressing me with its healing touch.
Even if troubles should arrive,
they won't linger or destroy much.

My life isn't empty nor wasted,
for God blessed me with reason to live:
Friends and loved ones surround me,
all providing to each what we can give.
