Desperation, fear, and isolation, are some of the feelings expresssed in this piece.
Help me, someone, I think that I'm lost.
Lost in a forest of towering trees,
All ripe with the fruits of disappointment.
Regret grows like a thick, ugly mold
Covering the roots of my dreams
And the stems of my goals,
Draining the life from the few remaining buds
That struggle to exist.

Help me, someone, I think that I'm lost.
Lost upon the lonely, frigid waters of a long forgotten sea,
Drifting on dark waves of sadness
That forever threaten to drown me in isolation and flood me in sorrow,
Pulling me into a murky abyss
Far from the calm lakes of contentment and love.

Help me, someone, I think that I'm lost.
Lost in a vast red desert crowded with the sands of bitterness.
Radiating heat forms mirages of Saharan intensity:
Infernos of anger consuming my morals,
Fumes of betrayal suffocating my reason.
The Oasis of Serenity slowly evaporating,
Succumbing to the hateful heat that burns inside my heart.

Help me, Lord, I think that I'm lost.
Lost in the world, lost in myself,
A lamb being chased by the wolves of society
Fear and uncertainty grab at me,
Pulling me into the cruel, fierce jaws of the pack,
Leaving me painfully empty and confused.
My dusty carcass yearns for your graceful light,
Hungrily waiting for the Holy Shepard
to guide my ravaged soul back to the herd,
And hopefully myself.

Help me.
