A bit of the anguish we all feel
Frustration, anxiety, anger,
Just a few of the emotions
Cascading through me
Like a wild waterfall.
Any attempt to stop these feelings
Causes them to grow and spread.
Falling through an endless abyss of life
I struggle to find handholds
To extract myself from my predicaments,
Only to cause me more pain
As my fingers are ripped
And cut to bloody ribbons.
My hands becoming tattered remnants,
Like my emotions have become.
As far as my mind can remember
It has been thus.
Reeling in the terror of falling further into despair.
I fight the anxiety and terror,
As my grip on reality slips.
Sending me flailing through the mists
Of past, present, and future.
Adrenaline flowing through my veins,
I suppress a scream
And the want to shout out for help.
Curling into a ball I succumb
To the despair and wait.
Wait for the end in serene calm.
