poem about heartbreak.
RELEASE ME!

Don’t touch me
Don’t stare
Don’t even look over here

I’m finished with the heartache
I’m tired of it all
Please just go away
Don’t you dare call

You act as if you love me
You say it like you mean it
Then you take it all away
What should I think?
What should I believe in?

Are you afraid to commit?
If so then why not just forget it?
I don’t want you anymore
You’ve rotted my heart to the core

Please leave me be
Extinguish this old fire
I can’t take it anymore
Relieve me of this desire

It hurts so…
Why?
I don’t know
You take it for a while and let me know…

Do you see it?
Do you understand?
You can keep it
I don’t want it back

The ache I do not treasure
It all has compounded
There’s just too much hurt
It makes me wish I were dead

Let me go
It’s for the best
I’m dying inside can you not see
Put my aching soul to rest
Release me…
