a poem i wrote about loneliness and heart break.
Hide in the darkness

Thoughts never get to far,
hearts never last,
when the pieces are falling
and no way to get back

Trembling in the darkness,
lost in infinity,
reaching for the light,
but I never really see.

The windows have all shattered,
no mending will there be,
so much did my heart break,
only one place to flee.

Darkened with despair,
no shadows to be found,
not a speck of hope with anyone to share,
not a soul anywhere around.

Holding on when sorrows all that's left,
never a whisper,
just wallowing in my regret,
lifelessly gripping my soul or what's left.

Maybe my pain will all go away,
maybe my hope will come back,
Maybe...some day.

But for now I will gather...
all my heartache and shame,
never shall another soul see a shimmer,
forever guarding my pitiful flame.
