“Shine Baby, Shine”



This is your time to shine!
You’ve done so well
Because many of you have
Faced horrendous crisis
And unfortunately some have failed

Maybe you failed one too many classes
Maybe you had no support
Maybe you had a baby

But you, oh you’ve made it through this rain
Surely you’ve experienced many emotions
But none rendered you insane

You realized that this day is just the beginning
That all too soon you will face life
And with this great start, you will be winning

You’ve stayed up endless nights
Not just socializing
But studying to gain educational insights

You’ve cried when it seemed your teacher was unfair
Yet still you persisted and carried on
Realizing that without your education, you would be bare

You skipped many nights of fun
Realizing that homework is due
That afterwards comes your bright sun

On this special day you shall shine
With dinner-parties, hugs and kisses
You've done well and your diploma is
YOUR SIGN
