MUSIC AND MEMORIES

The children are all grown now
and living far away from home,
but the music and the memories
keep me from feeling so alone.

Becky loved the piano keys
since she was only three,
She'd always climb up on the stool
and play a song just for me.

Laura was my nightingale,
She'd sing and dance with glee,
As Mary played the grand old harp
with its haunting melody.

They've kept the love of music
and I long to hear once more
the music in the evenings
as in the golden days of yore.

In dreams I see them once again,
I hear the melodies so sweet;
Just to hold them close again
would make my life complete.
