poetry for a sick soul
Baby
I know how hard life has been to you
I can see you upset
It finally chewed you up and spat you out
Like I said it would
But I see you crying, cursing your enemy
And now I want you to take those tears back
Because your enemy
Is also my mother
Don't you, while in the midst of this terrible drama called life
Forget that.
If you stop dehumanizing yourself,
I promise to buy you that diamond ring,
A complement to your beauty.
And if that is not enough to deflect your internal demons
Come pray with me.
I promise you'll find Jesus.
