What would you do if the Imposter Easter Bunny came knocking at your door?
This poem is a parody of
T'was The Night Before Christmas

T'was the night before Easter, and all through the wood,
All the creatures were running as fast as they could.
All the eggs were in baskets, coloured all bright,
They were ready to be hidden later that night.

The children were nestled, all tucked in bed,
While visions of coloured eggs danced in their heads.
Mom was wearing her bunny suit and I was in my pants,
We had some relatives over, some uncles and aunts.

When up on the roof there arose such a noise,
I yelled up the stairs, "Get to bed, girls and boys!"
Away to the stairs I flew in a hurry,
I thought I would hear their little feet scurry.

I started to yell, like an old habit,
Then stood face to face with a big pink rabbit.
The moon on the stairs gave a shiny glow
To the large set of ears and little tie bow.

When what to my amazement I saw in his teeth,
A pair of my boxers and an old Christmas wreath.
With quick munching jaws that moved really fast,
I chased the old bunny, while wearing a cast!

More rapid than eagles, his bounces they came,
As he jumped up and down like a bunny insane.
"Give me my boxers!" I demanded to him,
He just kept on jumping - no wonder he's thin!

To the top of the stairway and bounding off the wall,
He tore them to shreads in no time at all.
He dropped them to the floor while bounding around,
Mom's mouth was open, out came no sound.

We watched as he grabbed at Mom's bunny ears,
Then tore them to shreds while Mom was in tears.
I grabbed for the shotgun and aimed for the tail,
Boy, could you really hear that bunny wail!

The kids came down because of the noise,
I said, "See! This is what happens when you're naughty girls and boys."
