Written as a youngster after losing a loved one
I dream of you in black and white
Shades of grey I cannot see
That's how things are since that tragic Valentines night

I tried to forget what had been
Protecting myself from all the fuss
But nothing could erase what I'd seen

Light left my world, colour too
You flicked the switch that brought me life
Time will heal just wait, I heard them coo

Painting by numbers I build again
It's so hard when I know it's blank beneath
Like my mail I stack away the pain

As a plane made of paper I sail through the air
Waiting in vein to nose dive once more
To relax again, I do not dare

To return to the same, I very much doubt
A life has been lost but I'm living again
As I colour myself from the inside out.
