Giving ones heart can cause pain...much pain. Can you still trust?
She sits staring out at nothing before her,
Why does it hurt so?
The love is real,
The need is true,
So why does it hurt so?

Listening a voice is heard,
Yes, the love is real,
The need is true,
It hurts so, because
The love is not yours to hold.

She sits staring out at nothing before her,
The walls are shattered,
Her heart given,
The heart received and held,
In another’s hand.

Listening a voice is heard,
Yes, you gave your heart,
It was received,
But someone else has first place,
Yours sits to the side.

She sits staring out at nothing before her,
The pain is real,
The tears fall steadily,
He said to trust,
Why does it hurt so?

Listening a voice is heard,
Your love is real,
His love as he sees it is true,
That is why he said to trust, no more, no less,
Accept the emptiness.

She sits staring out at nothing before her.
