I wrote this poem when the one that I thought was "The One" tried to come back.
Walking next to the shimmering sea
I visualize the new life which waits for me

The crashing waves against the shore
Removes the ache from my heart that’s torn

Our mangled love was left to die
Yet I know my broken heart will heal in time

Escaping from your chains that captured me
Don’t they say ‘The truth will set you free’?

You tangled my heart with your jaded words
and left me with passions that burned

Angry words came slipping out
You say your heart was filled with doubt

Now you wish for one more chance
To heal the wounds of our solemn dance

Keep on wishing if you have time to waste
Your life, your heart, will never have my grace

Inside my soul, I will have no hate
Your advances were weak and way too late

Get a grip on the games you played
The game is now over ~ I won ~ Checkmate
