What would a flower do, if it got the chance to grow taller?
Little Flower

Little flower
Little dry, faded flower
What would you have done if you could have grown taller?
Would you have sung to the trees as their leaves fell, to make them forget the pain?
Would you have whispered sweet words to the sky in a comforting flower language when it cried?
O dear little flower.
Why did no one love you?
Why did the trees not help you when your bright, fragrant petals turned to brown?
Were they angry, little flower?
Did they hate you for not singing to them?
But you were so very little.
You couldn’t do very much at all.
Only I will remember you, little flower.
Only I will know what you would have done
If only you had not been so little.
