We are drawn to stars, although we know that if you get close enough, stars are deadly.
A Star’s Call

Stars twinkle bright from a silky black sky
Come closer, come closer, they laughingly cry
But I know their secret, I know what they are
I’ll never fall prey to the lies of a star

To answer your call would be madness! I scream
I see what you hide in your innocent gleam!
Fire and fury, danger and death!
I’ll never fall prey to your scorching breath!

But I sob as I shout, for I know it is true
I want to fly up to their haven of blue
To reach them, to touch them, to learn their sweet songs
I fear it, I loathe it, yet for it I long
