A girl I saw...
It was evening when she passed.
She walked so swiftly,
staring at the ground
My eyes fixated upon her
but she never looked back.
Instead she turned her head away
as if she could feel my glare,
piercing through her skin

Her walk was graceful,
each step carefully planned.
One foot in front of the other,
as if she was afraid of falling
Sporadically, she examined her left hand

It seemed like I'd known her forever.
Like we were lovers in a past life
I always wanted to know someone like her.
careful steps, focused eyes, pretty shoes
She looked like she lived in her thoughts

I probably wasn't part of them.
My ebullience faded.
I can't talk to her
