this is a poem trying to explain in a funny way why my daughter may not sleep at night.
I know of the midnight troll,
he lives just under my bed.
He has three big yellow eyes
and a pink horn on his head.

He's all covered with blue fur.
His fingernails are black.
He comes out around midnight
and eats up my socks as snacks.

Then he tiptoes up to me
and tries to tickle my toes.
He takes the blankets off me,
then he tries to lick my nose.

I try to tell him to leave
or else I'll get in trouble.
He won't leave unless mommy
rushes in on the double.

She will come into my room
and give me a kiss goodnight,
and tuck me back into bed
and say "Everything's alright."

Now the troll will not be back
till tomorrow night I'm sure.
But I'll be ready for him
cause my mommy is the cure!
