more meditations on a priest forced from ministry- work in progress
The pageantry of these passion plays
Through long high holy days of pain
Marks the demise of empire reign
That in shame and shambles lays

Hope rotting in unyielding stone,
Bleak monument to squandered grace;
Noble vocation rendered base
Shepherd shorn of flock, alone.

What promise will resurrect the soul
When life lies shredded like rejected script
When for no other stage equipped,
No other redemptive role or goal?
