On growing older
Autumn Days by Dee Lacy

Sugar frosted rooftops
Autumn’s in the air.
Leaves are colored red and brown
and falling everywhere.

How could summer leave so soon?
We ask ourselves in awe.
Seasons change and so do we
Once we heed His call.

I now am in my autumn years.
My younger days have passed.
I wasted all my summer days
on things that will not last.

But autumn time is harvest time
And so I know my task.
“Are you ready? Do you know Him?"
These are things I ask.

God saved my autumn days for me
And I can gladly say
Thank you Lord for giving me
another autumn day.
