Given to my daugther's special ed. teacher at 6th grade graduation
You seen me beyond who I was
And knew who I could be
I was troubled, with out understanding
You helped set me free
Unliked by others, is what I felt
You helped me see this untrue
I learned confidence, self esteem and wisdom
This is because of you
You showed me patience with out dismay
When you could have made me leave
You knew that I could fly
But followed underneath
Even when I fell
You helped me up and brushed me off
You gave me the strength to carry on
Even though I felt alone
You seen me thru the good times and the bad
You knew my sprit wanted out
I no longer wanted to be sad
But how is what I felt
I wanted to learn and be liked by all
You taught me to like myself
You taught me to stand on my own two feet
Now I can scream and shout
I have come full circle
To where I can see thru brighter eyes
I am a special person
To you that's no surprise
A simple thanks doesn't seem enough
Now that I can see
But Thank You, Thank You, Thank You
For Always believing in Me
