My Constant Companion

She is my constant companion,
My furry best friend.
I’ve told her secrets aplenty,
Her love knows no end.

We’ve been together for years now,
That’s how our story goes.
Through ups and downs in my life,
My love for her just grows.

She has given me so very much,
Her love, devotion, and caring.
And now it’s time to pay her back,
With this one last day that we are sharing.

I must do one of the hardest things
That any pet lover must face.
I must give up my constant companion,
And give her one last loving embrace.

This is dedicated to my Tangerine, aka Pretty Kitty.
She has been sick for some time now and we go in today to end her suffering.
