A man witnesses the end of the world.
The End
[DD]

As I stood there on the corner,
on a cold Brooklyn day,
the rain had started pelting,
and the sun had gone away.

It had been three weeks
Since the last storm had come,
Now it started up again,
and a homeless man sipped his rum.

He sat there on a trash bag,
gulping boozle inside the bottle.
His lungs decaying, breath stinking,
His heart was in full throttle.

He walked to me,
in a mood of glee,
and said "Sir, you know what we have here?
The end of the world, you are soon to see."

He guzzled more rum,
and wobbled down the street.
He stumbled and stuttered,
and tripped right over his feet.

As soon as he fell,
and hit the concrete,
I heard the rain get harder,
But I kept my thoughts discreet.

The rain turned into freezing cubes,
and hit them on their heads,
it turned from cubes to softballs,
and thirty-three were dead.

The cops, they watched in terror,
as the softballs turned into computers,
the end of the world was coming near,
and then I saw the looters.

They smashed the windows,
they broke the locks.
They stole televisions
and shot the cops.

They ran down the street,
but tripped on ice,
They cracked their heads,
as dogma for vice.

The blood dripped into the sewer,
where the alligators hid,
they were afraid because they knew
that we would all be dead.

The squirrels ran up to their trees,
and hid among their families,
the people ran and slipped and died,
and some snatched others' car keys.

They stole the keys,
and tried to steal the cars and drive away,
But then is started snowing,
and it froze the locks away.

Stuck there in the open,
for the snow, and ice, and hail.
The snow kept up, and didn't stop,
And they knew they'd go to jail.

They pulled their guns,
and shot and stole,
and ran away,
but died in the cold.

A group of men,
they chased a woman, and laid her on the ground,
she screamed, they slapped her,
and they raped her gagged and bound.

It was hell,
in Brooklyn, NY,
and several people
curled up and died.

People were stabbed,
and mugged and killed,
and several psychotics
were quite a bit thrilled.

It went on longer and harder,
The snow and hail and ice and rain,
and all the rapists fell to death,
their last moment spent in vain.

I watched the chaos break apart,
when several lives were taken,
and if this was no apocalypse,
I must be severely mistaken.

Dead bodies surrounded the streets,
and shops were disintegrating.
All of the pain and killing,
into history was penetrating.

This emptiness around me,
and I stood there staring in shock,
all these years the human race
was the eye of a flying hawk.

The American hawk had flown,
and then had been shot down,
had been flaunted and mounted,
after it had been found.

I stood there, and I watched the terror,
And all of those people died.
I fell to my knees, struck with horror,
and then I turned and fell, and hit the ground and died.
