poem about the emotional loss of a loved one.
Eternally

Beside a fire, sad but warm,
He sits protected from the storm.
The gusting winds and pelting hail
Pervade the cottage with a wail.

A heavy sorrow in his breast
Deprive him of a full nights' rest,
For memories of days now gone
Painfully, continue on.

Recalling a most joyous life,
Shared with such a precious wife,
His happiness soon turned to scorn
The day his perfect life was torn.

For months his dearest lay in bed
Filling him with constant dread.
Aware her illness was severe,
He knew the end was very near.

He struggled through the months ahead
Wishing he were also dead,
Then in a dream he heard her say,
" My love, we'll meet again one day."
