A man, driven by uncontrollable impulse to escape his present situation
Inflated balloon, pinched between his thumb and forefinger
Released, a whirlwind of spasmadic energy
Frustrated, head exploding with ideas
Clamped down in the plane's cockpit
switches and buttons flipped, red circular lights turn on
Some procedures ignored
Excited to get off the ground
2 hours later, a mechanic and his team
Constructing something with a pile of scrap metal
At their disposal, rumaging through it
Pile scattered, at the bottom of the pile
The lead mechanic holds up the remains of a finger
Horizon expanded, 2 helicopters fly overhead
One floats downward, hovering just above the ground
2 Paramedics slide down the rope
Handed a wooden board
A dead man being carried off
Burned, partly decapitated
his limp body bumping and bouncing in place
As the paremedics lift him into the chopper with a ritualized sense of urgency.
