A conversation I had with a dying friend.
Just One More Day

The words in this poem are basically a conversation I had with my friend Brad who was
dying of cancer. He died at the age of 21.

God! Just give me one more day to watch,
the sun rise over the mountains.
To see the flowers raise toward the sky.
God Please! I don't want to die.

Give me one more day to smell the rain,
To feel the water upon my face.
Before you take me in your warm embrace.

Give me one more day to be with my wife.
To embrace her to my heart.
For her to feel it beat with love.
I don't want us to be apart.

Give me one more day,
to feel the wind upon my face.
To watch the trees move and sway

Please God don't let me die today.
Just Give Me One More Day!!!
