A poem about life in today's society
THIS IS THE PLACE


This is the place

Where time was begun,

Where it soon will end,

Where life means nothing,

And death means everything.


This is the place

Where we laugh and cry,

Where we love and hate,

Where we're dying to hope,

And yet hoping to die.


This is the place

Where we'll come together,

Where we'll grow apart,

Where creation is good,

And where destruction is better.


This is the place

Where we love ourselves,

Where we kill ourselves,

Where we find that to live is to die,

And that to die is to live.


This is the place
