Love survives. A poem for the Writer's Cramp [12-24-21 prompt]
Till the End of Time

What mortal man can master each breath
and keep from his door the blackbird of death?

No one now living and, oh, by the way,
some who try hardest won't see end of day.

"But, what about us?" your true love may cry.
"I don't want to lose you! I don't want to die!"

"Take heart, my beloved! The power of love
has bound us together; here now, then above."

And with that great magic - voila - it is done!
Your maiden and you are forever one.
