The girl Called Ann(abell)
Just another day. Not too cold or too dark. The whole day will be bad or good. I'm around the age of 8, but I still know how to make my way around on my own. I was orphaned when I was only 9 months old. People say my birth was under the earth. I'm not sure what they mean. Some people say I wasn't born on earth at all, but most will say I was born in fort worth. An old lady, she was given the name Mary. She says I was cursed. As I rehearsed my lines of a small play. I realized I forgot the day. As I went to look at the calendar I noticed that all the rooms smelled like lavender.

The old lady named Mary hadn't been home at all that morning. By the time I made it to the kitchen I felt tired like a small kitten. There I found Mary cooking her famous lavender sweet tarts. I've always wanted to help her cook, but she won't let me know the recipe. She won't even let me get near her book. Every time she looks at me, she tells me she sees beauty. Some say I'm a cutie. I'm not an orange or tangerine, and I know for a fact I'm not a beauty. I'm closer to the beast. It took me some time to get my life pieced together.I have an old friend. We call him J.

I met him when me and Mary were shopping down by the bay. His actual name is Jason. He doesn't like that name. It was his cruel Grandpa's name. J and I used to bond over jigsaw puzzles throughout our first few days together. I soon told him my story. He was 12 at the time. I was somewhere close to 11 or 10. I wasn't sure how old I exactly was. I still don't. I remember the day my parents and siblings all passed away. I heard bells on that day. I tell people about how I heard bells. They all sigh and say it's a lie.

No one but Mary believes me. No one believes me because they think I was too little to remember the things that happened in that cold December. J says he wants to believe me. I know for a fact that this is true. It might be because of how much detail I described the things I was wearing or maybe because I said it in a way that made him feel blue. After a while of knowing J. He soon caught something that people thought was the flu. No one knew exactly what it was, not even the smallest clue. Mary and I wanted to help. The only thing I could do was bring a stuffed toy of a kangaroo.
