A thorn with a rose at its end... still stings.
Thorns

Rose-Anne loves me,
this I know.
She pricks my fingers,
shrieks in throes,

laughing gloating
cackling Rose,
tears now trickling
down my nose.

But Rose, Oh Rose,
I love you so.
You help me pen bad
poems, prose.
