my blog...
It is hard to say what may transpire. Hind sight is always at least 20/20. Why worry about tomorrow? Today transfixes me and yesterday mesmerizes me.

Why set up a blog? Because I like to talk. Or, as others may say, I like to rant. And rave. *Bigsmile* Sadly, there is a very limited amount of people who are willing to sit and listen to me. *Frown* This can lead to some sad and frustrating conversations with...well, myself. So, for the sake of my sanity as well as everyone else's, I have decided to join the blogging fun and become a blogger myself!

What will you find here? Insane ramblings most likely. Some may actually be amusing depending on your humor. I may blog about new things I've discovered (some may actually be new while others may only be new to me; so, bear with me there). Things that annoy, irk, upset, tickle, fascinate, etc. me and every thing in the world is (are?) subject to blogging.

Disclaimer: Shouldn't everything pertaining to personal opinion have one?
I really like to talk about things that upset me or that I don't understand (often the same topic *Bigsmile*). Generally, these topics are controversial to say the least. If you have a problem with my viewpoints, that's fine. But don't yell at me for it. This is my blog and I am entitled to my own opinions! No one is forcing you to read so, just walk away. I do not tolerate yelling at me. I don't like it; don't do it! If you're afraid of being insulted or offended and can't tolerate being debated then just don't start anything. That said, I probably won't say anything to offend or insult; but, we must err on the side of caution!

Okay, now I have nothing left to blog about!! *Laugh* Well, feel free to check me out...uh, erm...I mean my blog and port. *Bigsmile* Catcha around!

I just hate writing bios. Anyone else? I just never know what to say. I'm supposed to write a bio for CWP, and the senior editor told me (after 2 months of having the first draft) it was too short. The questions she gave me in hopes to jar something so that I could expand my bio only led me into despair! *Sick*

Not everyone has a big, long, fascinating story. Furthermore, since when is there a minimum requirement?

My car got damaged in the (one of them, anyway) storm that moved through Friday morning. I dropped it off at the repair shop yesterday. *Frown* He said it would take a few days to fix. I guess they're kinda busy. The storm caused a lot of damage. I'm just glad mine wasn't worse. There's a big dent above the driver's side front wheel. I'm not good with dimensions, but I'd say it's about eight inches long. Not quite as wide. Good thing for insurance. The guy's gonna take care of all that.

One of the hangers out at the local airport lost half its roof. Debris all over the place. A big, old tree in front of the airport was uprooted. Giant tree. At least it was. The cut the tree up and got it out of the road. The stump and roots are still there, hanging out of the ground, a gaping hole marking it's prior residence.

Stupid storms. It's been a really long time since we had anything like that. Three came through. Luckily, the other two weren't nearly as bad as the first. Lost power before the second one though. Yes, before the second one. We don't lose power during storms, just before, after, and on perfect days. *Rolleyes*

I'm hoping I'm going to get to go to the movies tomorrow. One of the local theaters has free summer movies. Down side, the showing is a 10 a.m. When I say local, it's about 25 miles. And there's construction, detours, and construction. Why bother? I don't know; it'll be fun. I went once last year. I saw Alvin and the Chipmunks. There's just a novelty to it.

A more local theater is a good one too, though. And lots cheaper. But it's just not quite the same. The Moore theater is only about 13 miles (that's the closest to anything where I live). Evening tickets (after 6 p.m.) are $5.00. If you bring back their bucket Mon-Thurs, you get free popcorn. A large soda is $1.50 (refills are $0.75). The Kerasotes theater is older, but it's HUGE. It's almost as big as our airport! *Laugh* It's got a ton of theaters and other stuffs. I don't know. I guess I never get down there, plus you need to take out a loan to get tickets, popcorn, and soda... So, when they have the free summer movies, it's just a nice treat. They're showing Igor tomorrow and Thursday morning.

We'll see.

I was watching a bit of the Bonnie Hunt show... (Just love that Bonnie!!!) It's a rerun (but of course) and she has Carrie Ann from Dancing with the Stars.

She seems like a nice, cute gal, but boy is she annoying! *Laugh* Way too bubbly and giggly. She keeps chittering.

Anyway. Had a major thunderstorm blow through this morning. :( Normally, I don't mind a little boom and a lot of rain. This was a lot of flash and bang. It's like, how am I supposed to sleep with that strobe light flashing?

Anyone else hate writing their own bios? I'm supposed to write a bio for the company I'm editing for. I sent in a little one, and the editor wrote back saying it was too short. *Shock* What's up with that? She gave me some questions to think about to expand the bio, but I don't have any answers to the questions. It's like, Um, no?

Like, how did you get into your field? Um, I fell into it?

I don't know.

*exasperated sigh*

American Dream:

Non Sequitor's strip today was about the American dream, and boy can I relate. This suit is sitting at a bar and he says:

"I stopped pursuing the American Dream when I found out it means I'd need to move to France."

Ain't that the sad truth?

*Angry*Well, I got hit twice today!!!

I hadn't been buying coke because Pepsi has been more on sale and I like it better anyway! Well, Pepsi wasn't on sale but Coke was, so I got some Diet Coke to tied me over til Pepsi was back on sale, plus the last batch of Diet Pepsi I got tasted really flat. Well, I went to enter the Coke rewards points online. My account balance was zero!!! *Shock*

Apparently, (I didn't know before, the TOS is sooo long, I don't know how they expect you to read everything and I thought I had) they can delete all your points if you aren't active for a certain amount of time. *Pthb*

So, just for kicks, I e-mailed them. Well, the e-mail I had signed up with is an excite account. Well (I know, totally overusing that word today), I went to sign into my excite account. It's been awhile. About as long as MyCokeRewards. *Bigsmile* See, Excite changed their e-mail system. It totally sucks. It takes forever to load; it's ugly; it doesn't have the options it used to; I hate it. I don't know why I didn't move away from it earlier. Anyway, so Excite deactivated my account because I hadn't logged in in more than 90 days. *Pthb* Well, if they had a better system, maybe I would have used it! It's not my faulty they changed it to some kind of weird offline business, no frills, crap-o e-mail blah.

I guess it's just not my day.

I was just telling my sister how I'd been kinda stuck in the community recognition points since April. Then I got to thinking... I've been in the top 100 public reviewers since I joined Simply Positive a year ago. But, the last credit I got for being in the top 100 was back in April for March. Today, I received two merit badges, one for April and one for May. Isn't that something? I'm assuming others had the same problem, but I'm not sure. Anyway, I just thought that was an interesting coincidence.

Here's something else that's interesting (and scary!). Open up a Google search page and enter in your (or anyone you know) phone number (providing it isn't marked private). Then look at the map and do street view.

Scary stuff.

Has anyone noticed a huge influx of Twitter users? It seems like everywhere I go, whatever I watch, someone is announcing that you can now follow them on Twitter! One of the local news stations has 5 or 6 different twitter accounts so you can follow specific aspects of the program. It almost seems out of control. Which is great for the Twitter people. It makes me wonder if it will just turn out to be a flash in the pan or if it will go the distance. I guess time will tell.

I know several people who are on Twitter. I've checked out their pages. Some of the tweets don't even make sense! Twitter doesn't let you edit your tweets either. So, there's no cleaning them up later. Every error is permanent. (Unless you delete the update.) I suppose half the fun is trying to figure out what the tweeter meant to tweet.

Now for the majority. To pass new legislature you need 2/3 or 3/4 majority in the house or senate (too long since social science, feel free to correct me). But you can pass an amendment by popular vote with a majority of 50.01% Now, that just doesn't seem right to me. That means that 49.99% disagreed. How can you put down that many people?

It just doesn't seem right. Furthermore, we are a republic (NO! America is NOT a democracy.) because the people who set up the country couldn't count on the people to be educated enough to make rational decisions about legislature and how to run the country. So, how can these people that can't be allowed to make decisions make changes to a State's Constitution?

The people in action. You know how the people used to take action?

Mob rule. Somethings never change.

Is it really May? 'Cuz it doesn't feel like it. You're supposed to plant after Mother's Day. Well, we've had a chance of frost all week! It was 40 at 9 this morning. It just doesn't seem right. I planted in the garden on Saturday, thinking that being the next day was Mother's Day it would be all good. Except for Saturday night, I've had to cover the plants every night since they were planted!!! It's only (for now) supposed to get down to 44 tonight, so it should be all good. It's just crazy. It was in the 80's for a bit in April and now it's frosty in the morning. *Rolleyes*

I blew all my blogging ideas by plotting them all out in my mind and then forgetting them... *sigh* So I don't remember what I was going to tell you. You'd think I'd learn by now.

Oh well. Another day.

Imagine my surprise this morning. I woke up to see white everywhere!

I just can't believe it snowed enough last night to stick.

It's April; I shouldn't have to clean off my car. Okay, so it was pretty wet and just slid off the car. That's not the point!

It was 60 on Thursday. Absolutely beautiful. (Except that I was conned into going on an interview for a position that turned out to be a group presentation [not an interview!] about becoming sales representatives. What a gigantic waste of time!)

So, 60 on Thursday followed by snow on Sunday.

Is anyone else sick of this yo-yo weather?

When is it going to be spring for real?

One last thing about Daylight "Savings" Time.

Where I'm at, we're on Eastern Time. In the months we aren't on "Saving Daylight and Using More and More and More Energy" Time, we are on Eastern Standard Time.

Here's my question: How "Standard" can the time be when we spend more time in DST than on "Standard" time?

Isn't standard the norm? But the norm is now DST time? Wouldn't it make more sense to call DST "standard" and then switch to non-standard time? Eight months of the year we're on DST.

What really annoys me is how close I am to Chicago. It's around 100 miles (going around the bottom of Lake Michigan). Chicago is on Central Time. Half of Indiana is on Central Time. Why are we even on Eastern Time? Doesn't it make more sense to be on the same time as Chicago versus New York?

http://www.timetemperature.com/tzus/eastern_and_central_time_zone_.shtml

Who drew these lines anyway? It looks like a child was given a box of crayons and told, "Go crazy!" Why do they snake like that? The sun doesn't snake like that. Shouldn't they just be straight lines? Granted, I understand maneuvering a little when the line goes straight through a county. But still! It looks like somebody is putting a squeeze on Central Time. It's way more narrow at the top than it is in the bottom. What's up with that? Course, I guess you could say the same (but opposite) about Eastern Time. It's narrower on the bottom than on top.

But I digress. The main point is: Shouldn't "Standard" time be the time that you're normally on?

Sounds like a good idea, right? *Bigsmile*

http://www.standardtime.com/petition.html

I don't know about you, but I cannot stand Daylight Saving Time. (I blogged extensively about this last year.) It's about that time again, and once more I am up in arms!

The switch to DST throws my internal clock off for weeks. I can't go to sleep at night, then I have trouble getting up in the morning. Then, summer rolls around. The sun doesn't set until 10. Which makes me think that "bedtime" shouldn't be till 2... It's just ridiculous. I do NOT want to start this again! I like standard time. If feels right.

When we switched back to standard time in November, I was SO happy! I was getting up early; I had more time to do things! I wasn't quite so cranky. I got more done in November and December (nothing to do with the Holidays) than I did in the previous four months.

Plus, in the area I'm in, the energy savings argument fails. They did a study in Indiana about energy use prior to their switch to DST. The energy costs went UP when DST was activated. *Laugh* See, us poor country folk tend to get up earlier. See, we send our kids to school. The buses start coming at 5. Daylight doesn't start until 8, closer to 9 in the early spring and late fall. So, we end up using more energy in the mornings than we save in the evening.

Not that I have kids. I also heard (http://www.standardtime.com/) that the number of bus accidents rises and car accidents rise in the first couple of weeks of DST. Why? Because we're all sleep deprived!

It's ludicrous. Let's just end Daylight Saving Time and be done with it. At least in the Midwest. If you guys out in California want DST, fine. I don't care. But I don't want it here. Just thinking about the switch has gotten me antagonistic. I don't want to spring forward... Don't make me!!! *Cry* If you get up at 8, that means you have to get up at 7. If you get up at 4:30 (which my mom does), you have to get up at 3:30. Need to be in bed by 11? HA! Try 10. Early to bed, early to rise. It's all a conspiracy.

Plus, the name. Give me a break. You can't save daylight (which the name implies). If you have 10 hours of daylight, you have 10 hours of daylight. It's just a shift. And why do we need to make everybody shift their hours? Just shift the business hours. You'd have the same effect. Instead of being open 9-5, open 8-4. You know, I bet a lot of people would like that. It would give them more time in the evening. Imagine that.

I was thinking about Time. "Invalid Item got me thinking about it.

Just a little food for thought:

What if time isn't exactly linear? What if, instead of being a straight line with no beginning and no end, time is actually a circle. Perhaps, like our orbit, it doesn't ever exactly land in the same place twice, but rather moves and shifts. Of course, if you're talking about time travel, you have to consider how time moves in relation to space. When you travel through time, do you move with the Earth? Or, perhaps, you stay still as you fast forward (or rewind) through time. Then what? Could, in going forward 1,000 years, you end up in a void of space or another galaxy? Would you have to take into account the shift of time relative to the Earth's movement and plan accordingly to land in a specific place? And if you land in a specific place, is the when factor predetermined by the landing place? Can you choose a place and a when?

Let's say that time is on a circular loop. Since it just runs back into itself, wouldn't it be possible to go so far into the future that you actually go back in time? Depending on whether the loop is one circle or a series of loops that are similiar but different (like the Earth's orbit-since we move around the Sun and the Sun moves through the galaxy we are never exactly in the same spot twice, just in the same position in our orbit-due North of the Sun for instance-just an example, there isn't specifically a "North" in space.).

So, if you go forward, say 1 trillion years, you could land in sort of a parallel dimension, depending upon how long the loop lasts, and how many circuits you take (going on the theory that it's more of a sphere than a circle). If you go so far forward that you've started on a new time circuit (or orbit), you could watch the universe being born.

Perhaps, the reason universes are born and die is because they are living the beginning and end of time. When I was little, I had this sort of toy book. It was a circular wheel with a story written on it. The story was worded in such a manner that the end went straight into the beginning. You could continue to tell the story without stopping, for ever (or until you got tired, passed out, or whomever you were telling the story to begged you to stop saying, "I get it, really. You can stop now," as usually happened to me). Perhaps time and the universe act on a similiar premise. The end flows into the beginning and starts all over again. When the universe collapses into itself, it will simply spring back forward and begin all over again. Although "begin" is a loose term.

Then the question is, Is Time circular or spherical? Will the universe proceed exactly the same way it did previously (circle), or will there be variations (spherical)? In another circuit, could we have been exactly where we are, doing exactly what we are doing? How many circuits have already been completed?

Or is this a similiar orbit in a slightly different place? Have we done all this before but advanced or regressed? Perhaps in a previous circuit, Earth missed some of the asteroids and looks different because there were less (or differently placed) impacts.

I could go on and on and on and on... *Bigsmile* Like that child's circle story, it may never end. So, before I hurt my brain, I'll sign off and let you think of your own "Or."

I'm sure, by now, you've heard of the woman who gave birth to octuplets. It made BIG news because this was only the second set of octuplets to big born alive.

I haven't heard too much of the story; the family has kept her name and much of her history from the media.

I do know one thing though. She already had six children. Not only does she have six children, she has six children under the age of seven, including 2 year old twins.

Now, forgetting the other children and thinking only of having 2 year old twins, wouldn't you think she would have her hands full enough with a pair of rambunctious, energetic, just learning to do everything and wanting to do everything right now 2 year olds?

It's not like Angelina Jolie, who has plenty of children (who's to say how may is enough?), yet has another one on the way. Sometimes, a pair will simply have a lot of children. Some would say there are those who are just lucky that way.

I haven't heard, precisely, anything at all about the father(s?) of her other children. But, the way I understand it, she's a single woman. Now, who in their right mind would want to undergo fertility treatment in order to have a baby when you are a single mother of six children under seven?

Does anyone else think this sounds like a little bit of madness? Granted, there was no way for her to know that she would give birth to eight babies. But, still... I mean, come on.

What do her parents think? I mean, she lives with her parents so her parents will be sharing the burden of raising these fourteen children. Okay, if you wish, they will be sharing the joy of raising all these kids. It seems like she'll be needing more help than just Mom and Dad. Fourteen! *Shock*

I just can't wrap my head around that!

Moving on to a completely different subject with no tangent whatsoever.

Alli versus Olean.

How many of you remember the whole Olean controversy during the 90's? This new fangled oil or whatever that makes chips good for you? It was fantastic! I mean, you could eat potato chips without feeling guilty.

I don't think they make them anymore. The side effects warranted action. For some people, they gave you the runs.

Enter the latest diet pill craze... Except, this one is different. It's approved by the FDA. *Shock* Americans rejoice!

I'm sure you've seen the commercials. Wynonna Judd is their spokesperson.

Have you read the fine print though? See, how it works is Alli keeps your body from absorbing fat. But that fat has to go somewhere...

Thus the major side effect and the cause for Alli to tell you that, during the first few weeks of use, you should wear dark pants and carry an extra pair of panties with you. *Shock*

Yep. So, my question is this, actually it's two fold,

One: At that rate, why not just buy cheap over the counter laxatives and become bulimic (bulimia goes both ways for those of you who didn't know that)? Just take a laxative with your meal. I mean, the outcome is the same. The side effects are the same. And, it's a lot cheaper!

Two: How about the potato chip diet? Bring back olean and market it as a weight loss product! They could use it in all sorts of things. Olean Krispy Kreams anyone?

Okay. I know that one isn't really feasible. But it's a fun idea isn't it?

I never had that problem with Olean products. I knew someone who did though. Still... Can't you imagine? Instead of taking the Special K challenge... Take the Doritos challenge! *Laugh* Just eat a serving of Doritos or Ruffles or your choice of Olean snack products with lunch and dinner. Got an afternoon craving? Just pick up a single size serving of Olean Ruffles!

I guess the only difference between an official, sanctioned weight loss program like Alli and an unofficial, you have problems weight loss program like Bulimia is how much weight you need or don't need to lose. For a skinny person to make themselves lose their lunch, it's wrong; they have a mental problem. But, for an overweight person... Well, no holds barred! You just do whatever you need to do. *shakes head* It isn't right.

Our society is built on deception and McDonald's. Then we punish people. And, in this economy, it's really hard to change. People can't afford to buy groceries; but it's really easy to fit in a $3 meal at Mickey D's. Fresh produce is not only seriously expensive, but it's hard to get in some parts of the country. Fast food is fast, cheap, and easy. Sometimes it's cheaper to eat out than to eat in. You go to the grocery store, buy $100 worth of food, come home and what do you have? Not much of anything. One gallon of milk is $4. A box of cereal is $4. A loaf of bread? No, not $4. *Laugh* It's only $3.50. Around here, bread is usually on sale for 2/$4. The little things add up really, really fast.

So, what can you do? What are we supposed to do?

It's all just really sad. *Frown*

It's cold!!!! It's cold everywhere. What is up with this subzero weather?

A 11 a.m. in Michigan, it is currently 10 below zero. Our normal, average temperature for this region is 31. For you mathphobics, that's 40 degrees below normal. That's not right. It's not natural. It's wrong, wrong, WRONG!

Furthermore, the windchill (what it actually feels like) is around 30 below zero.

Weather.com is telling me that it is 43 in Anchorage, Alaska. In what parallel dimension have I fallen into where it is 50 degrees warmer in Alaska than it is in Michigan.

Oh... right. They've got Palin up there blowing all that hot air. How could I have forgotten.

Besides Alaska and Hawaii (75), the whole nation is frozen; so I know you feel my pain.

http://www.weather.com/maps/maptype/currentweatherusnational/uscurrenttemperatur...
This map looks like it was beaten up-it's all purple and blue, like a giant bruise with a little yellowing around the edges (66 at the tip of Texas and Miami).

Poor America, bruised financially and temperature-ly. (*Laugh*What would you call it to describe the air mass temperatures?)

It's no wonder everyone is grouchy and cranky, it's just way too cold.

Show of hands. Who's ready for summer?

Does anyone else think that we use the word "kinda" (or kind of... whatever! *Laugh*) too much?

I watched a little bit of Oprah the other day (sometime last week), and she had this Sandwich Showdown. It was on while I was cooking dinner, so I wasn't really paying attention.

Something did catch my attention though. As you may know, I am a vegetarian. While I was half-listening to the show, I was thinking that they would never do anything vegetarian. I was proven wrong, kinda.

When they got to the last group (it was regular people paired with TV chefs), the chef made the comment that, while he was talking to his partner, he discovered that she is "kinda vegan." This really disappointed him, because he had been planning on a steak sandwich.

Never to fear though! He, with the help of some doctor who said she needed more protein, managed to compromise with her. She said she would be brave and try seafood. So, they did Earth and Surf. *Rolleyes* Some dedicated vegan she is. They ended up to a crab-cake style sandwich. I didn't hear what the Earth part of the sandwich duo was.

Kinda vegan. Give me a break. Vegetarians don't eat seafood, let alone vegans! Can you imagine?

Oh, sorry I don't eat honey or butter... But I'll have the fish!

Which brings me to another point. Vegetarians do not eat meat. Meat includes, but is not limited to, chicken and fish. I cannot tell you how many people, upon finding out that I am vegetarian, have asked me if I eat chicken, then asked about fish. (But fish isn't meat, is their comment.)

NO!

Simply not eating red meat does not make you a vegetarian.

And I eat more than lettuce and potatoes. *Rolleyes* My dad's family are farmers and cannot wrap their heads around the idea. Everybody cries, "What about protein?" Whaa-whaa. Protein is found in a lot of other things besides meat! Give me a break people! This is the 21st century. You'd think we'd be a little more educated! *Pthb* Ug.

I had other stuff to say about "kinda"... But, I kinda lost it. *Laugh* I kinda got carried away.

Who doesn't love it? *Bigsmile*

It so bites!!! *Laugh* Especially Barnes and Noble. I would never spend that much time at B&N. It's my favorite store. They're just so expensive.

But... I had a coupon for 25% off one item, which expires at 11:59 tonight. Which is about 4 minutes away. *Blush* I wanted to use it... I've let several of them expire. It's not like I had to use it.

Anyway. If you shop at B&N, you know that if you spend $25, you get free shipping. Well, the book I wanted was only $10 away from $25, and shipping is $4... So... You know I had to find something to boost my total up. If I'm going to spend $4 for shipping, I might as well throw in an extra $6 and get something additional. Right? Absolutely!!!

Well, I just spent almost TWO HOURS on B&N. The first half hour was devoted to trying to find something for my baby nephews. Then I wanted to find a new Physics book. That took half an hour right there! *Laugh* Then, one hour trying to find that extra something. I looked at literature, history, mythology, Iliad, Odyssey, mystery, suspense, Agatha Christie, Dean Koontz, thriller, I think I looked at just about everything! *Laugh*

So, I've pondered several possibilities. Do I get two somethings for round-about $10, or one something? I want this... No, that. GAH!!! Then, I look at the clock and it's almost midnight! If I don't hurry up and pick something or just take the one book, my coupon's going to expire! And I thought my sister was indecisive! *Laugh*

Well, I ended up with Physics of the Impossible: A Scientific Exploration Into the World of Phasers, Force Fields, Teleportation, and Time Travel by Michio Kaku and The Mystery of the Blue Train and Sad Cypress by Agatha Christie. All hardcover. (Whoo! *Bigsmile*)

Physics books are expensive. *Frown* With my 25% off though, it was only $14 and change. *Bigsmile* So, I spent $6 on the to Christie books. Merry Christmas to me! *Laugh*

Am I rambling? Hmm... Kinda sounds like it. I guess I better get to sleep.

I can't believe I spent that much time on B&N!!! *Shock* I'm such a bad girl! *Blush* I don't know where the time went. Oh well.

Okay... I'm cutting my self off. (If I can peel myself away from the screen that is! I might need a surgical intervention at this point! *Laugh*)

Happy Holidays!!!

(song by Jon Secada)

I have these dreams sometimes. They are so vivid. Sometimes they feel more real than this life of mine does. And, when I have these dreams, I awake with a deep sense of longing and regret. I feel like I've really lost something sometimes. It's not because the life I have in my dreams is perfect. It's far from it. There's heartache and struggle sometimes. They feel all the more real because of the heartache and struggle. But, in the end, it usually ends well. Maybe it's because, in my dreams, I have control in the end. Sure things go bad, but I can manipulate it to end well. I hope that this life will end well. But there are no guarantees.

In my dreams, there are some guarantees. If it's going really, really bad, and I'm scared out of my wits or whatever (like someone's trying to kill me), I can always wake myself up and end the dream. I'm not stuck. And I can go wherever I want. Do whatever I want. Meet new people. Find the love of my life. Do amazing things. It just feels so real. I think that's what gets me. When I wake up and find out that it's not real, I feel like I've lost a really great life. A life made all the better by what I had to do to get it. I'm so invested, that I really feel like I lived that life I dreamt. And, in a way, a little bit dies away when I have to wake up and leave that life behind.

Sometimes, I wish I could just stay in that life, in that dream.

Omg!!!

Do you know how many people are running for president of the united state?

Do you?

I bet you don't.

2?

No.
What? Oh, yeah, Nader. Okay, 3.
Nope.
What do you mean no? Are you pulling my leg?
Of course not. Would I do a think like that?
Yes. Yes, you would
Okay, so you got me there. But, seriously, the answer is still no.
Hmm... You got me thinking. I do remember something about someone else that might be running... Bob Barker? Okay. I'll say four and that's my final answer.
First, it's Bob Barr, not Bob Barker. Second, wrong again! The correct answer is 6.
You're insane. There aren't 6 people running for president. I'll give you four, but no more!
Furthermore, obviously you couldn't know, a woman is running for president.*Shock*
Are we talking about the same election? Palin is running for vice president. Not president.
I'm not talking about Palin. *Rolleyes*
Hillary isn't running for president either! I'm beginning to get tired of your games.
*sigh* It isn't a game. I'm serious. There are 6 people running for president, and one of them is a black woman. Honest to goodness! You can check it out for yourself at http://www.votesmart.org/election_president.php Granted, it's a little late to educate yourself. It just really makes me think about how little we know about what's actually going on. We only know about what they want us to know about!
Wow. Would you look at that!? I never heard of Cynthia Ann McKinney or Charles O. Baldwin before...
I know. It's it crazy? Everyone is talking about the first woman vice president or the first african-american (or black, depending on who you ask) president, and here we have a black (or african-american) woman running for president!!! Unbelievable.
Gosh! I'm sorry I called you crazy. We should really learn to rely less on the media and depend more on ourselves to educate... Ourselves.
Yeah... Well, know you now. Doesn't do much good now, but now you know.
Hey, what does write-in mean?
Look at that! We're out of time. Glad to have taught you something. Catcha around!

Yes, that's right Charlie Brown. The Great Pumpkin is DEAD! I just watched David Letterman kill it. Well, actually one of his lackeys killed it by blowing it to smithereens.

It was AWESOME! *Bigsmile*

A million bazillion pieces of flying pumpkin pieces.

On another note, I think Halloween is dying. *Cry*

Besides Thriller, which is on my computer, I was unable to find (and listen too) any Halloween music today! *Cry*

It's totally ridiculous. None of the houses were decorated for Halloween, trick or treat was last night (which I never heard about and was genuinely surprised when people started milling around with little creatures in tow). It's like, What's happening to Halloween?

In my area, there were no Halloween shows at all this week. The Rocky Horror Picture Show is going to be on T.V. tomorrow night (or, rather, tonight). But, Halloween will already be over so that hardly counts. They didn't even air "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown." *Cry**Angry* They always air The Great Pumpkin. It's a Halloween tradition!! It's like Thanksgiving without the Macy's day parade. (I don't actually watch the parade, but can you imagine them not airing the parade?)

*sigh* I'm totally bummed out about the whole skipping of Halloween. It isn't right, and I protest!!!

It's been raining off and on all day. Then, as the sun was setting, it turned to snow. Gigantic, humongous, fluffy, mutant snowflakes. It was crazy!

Now, it's back to rain. *Rolleyes* There was a nice little dusting everywhere.

I was haikuing earlier. I came up with four alternatives for one piece. (Or, one piece with three revisions?)

Rain glistens brightly
as it holds on to the trees
beaming in the sun.

Rain glistens brightly
as it clings on the branches
flashing in the sun.

Tree glistens brightly
as rain clings to its branches
flashing in the sun.

Tree glistens brightly.
Rain clinging to its branches
sparkles in the sun.
