my blog...
It is hard to say what may transpire. Hind sight is always at least 20/20. Why worry about tomorrow? Today transfixes me and yesterday mesmerizes me.

Why set up a blog? Because I like to talk. Or, as others may say, I like to rant. And rave. *Bigsmile* Sadly, there is a very limited amount of people who are willing to sit and listen to me. *Frown* This can lead to some sad and frustrating conversations with...well, myself. So, for the sake of my sanity as well as everyone else's, I have decided to join the blogging fun and become a blogger myself!

What will you find here? Insane ramblings most likely. Some may actually be amusing depending on your humor. I may blog about new things I've discovered (some may actually be new while others may only be new to me; so, bear with me there). Things that annoy, irk, upset, tickle, fascinate, etc. me and every thing in the world is (are?) subject to blogging.

Disclaimer: Shouldn't everything pertaining to personal opinion have one?
I really like to talk about things that upset me or that I don't understand (often the same topic *Bigsmile*). Generally, these topics are controversial to say the least. If you have a problem with my viewpoints, that's fine. But don't yell at me for it. This is my blog and I am entitled to my own opinions! No one is forcing you to read so, just walk away. I do not tolerate yelling at me. I don't like it; don't do it! If you're afraid of being insulted or offended and can't tolerate being debated then just don't start anything. That said, I probably won't say anything to offend or insult; but, we must err on the side of caution!

Okay, now I have nothing left to blog about!! *Laugh* Well, feel free to check me out...uh, erm...I mean my blog and port. *Bigsmile* Catcha around!

Officially fed up with Microsoft, Windows, and PCs in general...I'm finding my way around my first Mac.

Quite a learning curve but I'm getting everything figured out. I never could get SP2 installed on the PC after the last recovery. It was never right and was never gonna be right.

Hopefully, this is gonna be good. It's just gonna take a little bit to get adjusted to the switch.

I'm excited!

Do you really need to say more? Family has a way of, well, put a damper on holiday spirit. Especially the oldest. Not the brightest crayon in the box and she always has to open her mouth and say something, well, unbright. Erg. *sigh* If you pretend to have fun, you might have fun.

Now, chant that mantra.

Not that it'll help....

Oh well. Only happens once a year. Thank goodness for that!

It seems the weather has cleared for all you holiday travelers. Travel safe. I find it hard to believe that tomorrow is Christmas! It came too fast.

We're all getting together this Saturday. Everyone but the second sister's husband. Apparently, he isn't coming but I don't know why. The first sister changed plans about sixty-two times and has now gone back to the original plan. *Rolleyes*

The second sister had her baby boy back in July. She e-mailed our dad with an updated Christmas gift ideas list. She wants a DVD that teaches you how to interpret your baby's cries. Shouldn't she already get that by now? She is getting so weird.

Anyway, hope you all have a grand Christmas...

or, if you don't celebrate Christmas then I hope you have a fabulous Tuesday!!!

I can't believe that Christmas is a week from Tuesday!! It doesn't seem possible. Time has just flown. I'm all ready though. Got everything wrapped up yesterday. For the first Christmas that is...I'm having Christmas with my older sisters (and their families) the Saturday after Christmas. I'm all set for the kids (no small feat now that there are four!) but I'm not quite ready for the adults. I figure I'll just pick up a nice discount tin of cookies/candies/chocolately things after Christmas and save a little money!! *Bigsmile* This is a big reason why we decided to get together after Christmas. Who doesn't want to save money?

I know Christmas is less than 3 weeks away but it doesn't feel like Christmas. It's just very odd. We finally have a little bit of snow. Don't know how long it'll stay though. Christmas doesn't feel like Christmas anymore. Maybe it's because it's too protracted anymore. You start seeing Christmas stuff before Halloween and it kinda ruins the whole holiday season.

Then there is all the holiday debate. "Happy Holidays" versus "Merrry Christmas." There was a salvation army holiday person (what do you call the people that ring the bell in front of the store?) ringing their bell and saying "Merry Christmas" before Thanksgiving. Now, if you ask me you should not be shouting "Merry Christmas" before it's even Thanksgiving!!!

This is why I like "Happy Holidays." It covers all the ground. I can say "Happy Holidays" from post-Halloween (sounds a little odd before Halloween) through New Years. It's a catch-all phrase. Not to mention it covers all your bases for other holidays that you might not be aware of.

I'm not just talking about "Christian" Christmas; actually, I'm not talking about it at all. That is a whole other can of worms which I won't get into right now. It's not just whether or not you celebrate Christmas. The holidays should be a special time of joy, laughter, and giving. Not yelling at people because you wished them a happy holiday instead of a merry christmas. I would rather people wish me a happy time of holidays rather than just one measly merry day.

You say "Merry Christmas" to someone who doesn't celebrate Christmas and they politely inform you that they don't actually celebrate Christmas but they appreciate the thought. You tell some Christian "Happy Holidays" and they bite your head off!!! Mean, mean, mean people!! I just don't understand it.

It just seems to get worse every year. I don't know if it actually is or if I just didn't notice before. Any thoughts?

Well, I'm more than half done with my Christmas shopping!! YAY! Now, I just need to get stuff for my mom and dad... No clue there.

Had some odd weather yesterday. It started snowing...snowing like crazy. Then, the snow changed to sleet. Real fun to drive in. Today, it is pouring. I mean buckets and buckets and buckets of rain.

Who ever heard of snow changing over to rain? That's a rhetorical question btw. *Bigsmile*

Hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving. Mine was really nice. I didn't stir out of the house Thursday or Friday. :D I did watch the news on Friday. I think more people came out for Black Friday this year. And earlier too. Kohl's opened their doors at 4 am!! I just don't get Black Friday.

Nonetheless, the winter/Christmas season has been ushered in. We got a teensy bit of snow Thursday night. It was actually the first snow of the season. Way later than usual. Anyway, I love WDC's winter trimming. It's so pretty. Blue is one of my favorite colors. The snowing background banner is a nice touch too. It makes me feel a little Christmasy.

Happy Holidays.

Does it seem like the holidays keep getting longer? It's getting to the point where they aren't joyous anymore. They're just a three month long pain. Especially now that Christmas starts in...OCTOBER! What's up with that? Halloween is briefly consider towards the end of September and then we go straight to Christmas. We even seem to be bypassing Thanksgiving. I would think that would be the big American holiday. Spending four days (it really isn't just Thanksgiving Thursday really is it? It goes over to Friday, then Saturday, then Sunday and, really, if you still have leftovers past Sunday, it continues on until everything is gone.), now, where was I? Oh yes, spending four days gourging ourselves with meat and carbohydrates! Or, in my case, veggies and carbs. Isn't that really the American spirit? The gift of way too much food. With the price of groceries these days people probably spend as much on Thanksgiving dinner as they do on Christmas presents!

Then there's the stress. Getting together with family. Family you never see and the spend awkward hours trying to talk to. Banging your head on the wall because your uncle won't stop narrating yesterday's stock quotes in a monotone voice while the kids are screaming through the house and everyone else is shouting over the din trying to be the loudest and, thus, the one person to be heard. Ah, the joys of the holiday season.

I can't wait til it's over!

:D

Well, it was summery in October and into November. Then, it turned cold. They were calling for snow. Didn't happen. Rained today and we're above 60. It's sheer madness. It barely hit 40 week before last. Cold, nice, cold, nice. And then, out of nowhere, winter will hit us. Then, it will be 60 again. I can't keep up anymore! We used to have snow from at least November through February. Now it seems confined to January. Very strange it is.

Sony Card keeps sending me applications for a sony card. I already have a sony card. It's really starting to annoy me. I wish they would just go away.

I can't believe Halloween is over already!!! :( I waited and waited for it; now it's gone! It just doesn't seem possible. It didn't feel like Halloween. It doesn't anymore.

The commercialization of Christmas has overtaken Halloween. We don't even have Halloween anymore. Thanksgiving is next, you know. It used to be that there were tons of Halloween shows on the week of Halloween. This year, "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" aired on Tuesday and that was it. It's insane.

The trick or treaters were running around in full daylight. Now that dst has been pushed back, it's still daylight come treating time. It doesn't seem the same. Yeah, I know, safety first. All the fun is gone from the world!

It just doesn't seem right.

No matter what I do, no matter what I try...I can't get service pack 2 to install!!! I'm ready to take a sledge hammer to this thing!! It gets so far and then says "Access Denied" each time. Now, this is a windows update...why am I having problems with this? I am so frustrated with windows. Each time something goes wrong, I have to back up, regroup, recover, and reset everything which includes reinstalling all the bloody updates! If anyone knows how to fix my service pack 2 problem, puh-lease let me know! I'm dyin' over here!!!

We had a series of wicked storms blow through last night. I have never heard a tornado siren in our town for as long as I've been here; but, I heard one last night. It's a scary thing. The town is built in, well, a crater. Not like a meteor crater or anything...but a...depression none the less. As such, we just don't get tornados. One did go through a long time ago. I barely remember it...it hit outside of town but still within the annex. I think it was in the early 1990's.

Anyway, it was scary. The wind was insane. It was at night so you couldn't see anything coming. I was looking out the window. There was a ton{/i] of lighning. There was a wall of..something...I'm not sure if it was just wind or rain or what. That was the end of my viewing.

There were reports of rotation a few miles south of where I am. I haven't heard whether or not it was actually a tornado or not. We had teeny tiny hail too I think. At least, that's what it sounded like. There were lots of reports of marble sized hail. Luckily, too small to cause damage.

All of this, and we never lost power. That's what is really insane. We lose power on a perfectly beautiful, sunny, pleasant day but not during severe weather. I have no clue what's up with that.

Work has been absolutely slamming. They keep piling on more when we can't finish what we've got going. My computer is still not set up yet. Windows keeps wanted to install Service Pack 2; it gets half way through before popping up a window that says "access denied"; then it uninstalls what it attempted to install and wants to do the whole thing all over again! It's been doing this for at least a week. I'm so frustrated!!!

Good grief. I've been having a Charlie Brown sort of week. I was doing crazy/silly things at work. My computer is more or less dead again. It needs to be restored...again. You can play games and stuff but you can't run any applications. It's being really, really weird. Anyway.

Why don't you pop over to

and tell me what you think? It's just a little opinion article.

I'm going to try to go to a job fair on Wednesday. If I can get out of work. I want a new job. *sigh* But, it's so much work. I have a 40/50 minute commute (depending on traffic) and have been working 10 hour days. Doesn't leave much time for anything else.

Anyway. I have lots of stuff I want to say..but, I don't have the energy! So, I'll leave it for another day.

Until then...

Finally, after much ado and worry and stuff, my diploma arrived in the mail today!!! It suddenly seems completely real. I was having a little trouble with it. I didn't think the paper mattered that much. I thought that I knew that I had done it and that would be enough. It wasn't. I needed the validation and confirmation. I was getting this weird feeling that, at any moment, someone would call/e-mail/write/whatever and say that I had missed something, something had gone awry, papers had gotten misplaced and didn't really have my bachelor's degree. I feel...reaffirmed? I don't know. I do know that no one can take this away from me. I feel...almost...proud, like I accomplished something. It feels good. I understand a little bit more now. I didn't care about the paper. I didn't think it meant anything. Now, I realize it does. It signifies..everything. I'm glad I did it. I think it was good that it took me awhile to get it. I think if it hadn't I wouldn't have fully realized how much it means. At any rate, it is official. I am a college graduate.

What a week! My birthday was on Monday the 27th, my account birthday (2 years!!!) was on Thursday the 30th and, now, it's WDC's birthday!!

Who loves the site's decorations? I know I do!! I think the site should be decorated all the time! It's so pretty! *Bigsmile* I guess it wouldn't be as special if it was decorated all the time though, would it?

Oh, well. *Smile*

Happy celebrating!!!

Goodness! Busy, busy, busy!!

Well, the new baby is now 3+ weeks old. According to my mom, my sister sent our dad a disc with baby pictures on it. I haven't seen any pictures of him yet. Apparently, I have to go through the proper channels. Anyway, my mom saw them and told me they were creepy....

*phone call*
to be continued...

SOOOOOooooo, sorry for the monstrous delay. One thing led to another, and another, and another and, well... *Worry* Anyway...

As I was saying...what was it again? *Reading* Oh, yes. The baby pictures. I haven't seen them yet. I'm not sure I do after what I've heard. Apparently, the photographer put him in a little white box that was smaller than the baby and made it look like he was in a casket. *Shock* Also, my mom said that he looked dead in most of the pictures. She was really weirded out. She said it was too freaky. *shudder* Who takes baby pictures like that?

Anyway, moving on. Tomorrow (Monday, the 27th) is my birthday!

Happy Birthday to me,
happy birthday to me,
happy birthday dear meeee,
happy birthday to me!!!

I have a problem with my birthday. I tend to start buying things when it comes around...I've been good for the last however long and now I'm going on shopping sprees again! *Worry* I'm a bad girl. I know it. But it's so much fun!

Until I get the bill that is. *Bigsmile* No, it's never quite that bad. Usually. *Bigsmile* I always spend a bunch of money in August though. Part of it isn't my fault though. Part is the Secretary of State's fault. August is when my license plates come up for renewal. I had to renew my driver's license this year too. So, you see, it isn't all my fault!! *Bigsmile*

Anyway. Then, Thursday is my WDC birthday! It's a big week. *Bigsmile*

This past week was nice. It rained like all week!! It was fantastic! It's been truly summeresk. Hot, hot, and HUMID during the day with lovely thunderstorms at night. Then, repeat. Until today that is. It rained almost all morning yesterday. I woke up this morning to blue skies and sunshine. It's really nice out. I was enjoying the rain though. Next chance for rain is Wednesday. At any rate, we had a nice run this past week.

Happy Birthday!! to anyone else whose birthday is this week and happy un-birthday to everyone else!!

Just a little rant today. More about the baby whom, at this rate, I'll never meet but that's another story. Now, you know from a previous entry that the baby is not allowed to go out in public. I didn't even think he could leave the house. There's germs and stuff out there you know. *Rolleyes* Anyway, my sister, in her infinite wisdom, got it in her head somehow that the baby was not "in alignment." Thus, she took her week old infant to the chiropractor to get adjusted. I'm practically speechless. One week old. Can't go to church or the grocery store or anywhere but is going to the chiropractor to get "aligned." What is up with that? I don't get it at all. Our dad went to down visit and the baby couldn't even go out to eat with them. So, I guess her mom was there (it sounds like she never leaves) so she left the baby with her mom to go out. I find the whole thing very odd. Then, her older sister has taken it upon herself to be gatekeeper. The story goes (I heard it through the grapevine *Smile*) that while our dad was down visiting she kept telling everyone to keep quiet, which, I think, should be the mom's place to tell people not to wake the baby not the aunt's. Apparently, he put her in her place. I'm not sure where she got the idea to boss our dad around. There was no way he was going to take that gracefully. Anyway, it sounds like the Twighlight Zone down there. At this point, I don't care whether I see them or not. It's just too bizarre. They are all crazy!

Then again, aren't we all?

Where to start? I guess I'll work my way backward...

Rented some movies on Sunday. Watched Mission Impossible III and Happily Never After. I swore that Michelle Pfeiffer was the stepmother but it turns out that the stepmother was actually Sigorney Weaver. Not sure why I got confused on that point. At any rate, it was...cute. I like Freddie Prinze Jr. It just felt like the story was a little empty. It was very simple and straightforward. No surprises, suspense. It was okay.

Didn't really watch MI:III. *Bigsmile* I kinda half-listened while catching glimpses while doing something else. I started out trying to watch it. I wasn't really interested in the first place but went along with it. Anyway, I started out watching. I thought the beginning was a little...hinky. This girl they're trying to rescue is half dead. Cruise gives her a shot of something (missed what it was) in the heart. She thrashes and yells. Next thing you know, the half-dead girl is running down the street shooting right alongside of Cruise. They get to the helicopter and she's half-dead again then dies. I kinda stopped paying attention after that.

My sister (the one who just had the baby) is crazy. She had help to get there though. One, her pediatrician told her to keep the baby away from groups of people for the first couple of weeks. I never heard of such a thing. So, they aren't going to church for the next couple of weeks. I'm actually kinda for that because they started acting weird after they started going to this church. But, she also won't go to the grocery store either. Basically, she and the baby will not be leaving the house for the next couple of weeks. Her husband will go to work and come home. I suppose he'll be doing the grocery shopping too. Anyway, they've had a ton of people at the house. New babies are like people magnets you know. Apparently, that's different than groups of people outside the house.

Furthermore, we're under direct orders from our oldest sister not to call our sister. Apparently, she doesn't want anyone to call the house. So, if you have anything to tell her, you have to call the oldest, tell her, and she will make sure that the message gets delivered. Then, you might get a callback. But, no one is to call the house. Why? Because, if the baby is sleeping (which I suppose he will be doing for the next few months) and the phone rings (or some sneezes I suppose) it might wake the baby. She wants the house completely quite so that the baby can sleep.

It's just crazy. I'm interested to find out how long the quite thing is going to last. I mean, he's a new born baby. What else is he going to do besides sleep? How can you keep a house completely quite all the time? Furthermore, I would think that would have ramifications later on. I totally don't get the doctor quarantine thing. Has anyone heard about keeping new borns away from people for their first couple of weeks? I would like your thoughts on that point.

The whole world's gone mad.
