Enga mellom fjella: where from across the meadow, poems sing from mountains and molehills.

Inauguration
Inauguration

Along the paths from autumn to eternal spring
we tarry for a moment to give thanks
for what this wintry landscape brings
a respite from the toils of harvest
a time to contemplate and plan
what seeds to sow, what new direction,
what change perchance will make next summer bloom
and what bouquets we'll have to carry
when next we have the time to tarry.

We bury the burdens of these treacherous times
We lay them down, no longer ours.
The sadness and the worries that they brought
we sever now as joy will give us wings.

Forced from our chrysalis this wintry day
our wings pulse slow in fresh cool air,
expectant with each hope we utter,
strengthening to meet the fray ,
to flutter then perchance to soar and fly away.

The inspiration was "inauguration" as it seems inaugural addresses include a poet. Very few end up being memorable, but I let some thoughts enter my mind none-the-less. Every poet should probably write an inaugural poem. Wouldn't that be wonderful? That way, someone would assuredly come up with a brilliant one. *Smile*

BLAH blah BLAH blah (a trochaic blah):

We had big wet flakes! The winds blew a bit and I decided not to cross the bridge today. I will tomorrow, of course.

Met Eric last night at the coffee shop. He lives next to me and informed me, when I mentioned Bernice's is redoing their floor, that the casino/bar next door has internet (I have my own) and is open 24 hours! I never thought to inquire ... stupid me ...

He had just come from the laundromat which reminded to boil some underwear ... and tonight soak with some shirts. (This deserves it's own entry some day ... *Rolleyes*)

Yesterday I walked through the slush and took notes of the images: "A day of melting

BLOGVILLE

Still working on catching up. Succeeding. *Smile* At least 44 bloggers visited and over 61 comments left since the 25th. Still haven't gotten to some of my regulars ... so I'm doing good. My monthly average of bloggers who visit me has gone up to 65, so I owe at least that many a visit while I have the drive and energy to do so. I try to make up for the days when I don't. For me it is more than just a courtesy. I feel connected and I get ideas! *Shock* And life doesn't seem quite so dreary once one realizes how tough a time some folks are having at this very moment. Perspective is priceless.
