Snow ~ Thanks I Just Can't Resist It
Wednesday, May 30, 2012 ~ MAY 2012 FOLLOW ME BLOGGING CHALLENGE prompt is Thanks I Just Can't Resist It by 30DBC Creator/Founder

“Maize,” Morton said, as he knelt before her. “Will you do me the honor of being my life mate?” He handed her a small gold ring box.

“Thanks, I just can’t resist it,” she said taking the box and opening it. Inside, was a large 12-facited diamond ring sparkling with the colors of the rainbow. “Beautiful!”

Removing the ring from the box, Maize waited patiently as Morton took the ring from her and placed it on the ring finger of her right hand. Then he stood up, took her in his arms and they kissed. As their lips met, a flash of lightening struck them from the cloudless sky. Maize and Morton disappeared, while the ring dropped to the ground and rolled under a nearby rose bush.

The next morning, Candace Wade was walking toward the ruins of the town’s cathedral when she noticed something sparkling under a scarlet rose bush. Kneeling she reached under the bush and picked up the ring.

“Well,” she said as she put the ring into her pink silk purse, “it took Gregory long enough to convince that witch to marry him, but at least now I don’t have to worry about her finding out about my powers.” With a cat-like grin, she continued to the cathedral.

In the courtyard of the cathedral, Candace stopped, as a shiver of fear ran up her spine. There, in the center of the courtyard, stood Gregory and Lora, talking to Father Joseph, hyperventilating Candace set down on the nearest bench and her eyes fixed on the trio.
