My Magic Brew & Daily Decisions
Today's blogs...

Blog City – Day 227

Prompt: You are making a magic brew. What does it do?

Down to dungeon I go... didn't you know, I do have a dungeon. It is deep, deep down into the creavesses of my house (even my husband does not know it is there). I make my way in through a secret passage only I know about. I take my lanterns as they are good to give off heat and the flame is easier to transfer over to my fire. Yes, I have a cauldron, handed down in my family for generations, but it is a well kept secret so I am swearing you to keep the secret or else wrath will follow you all the days of you secret spewing life.....

I get my fire going, hot and sure before I add anything. It needs to be cleared of past potions. I do not want to contaminate today's attempts. I check my shelves for the necessary ingredients. Satisfied, I move to my bookshelves and select the book that will contain tonight's magic brew - a potion that will allow me to transform into any object of my choosing. This will be much better that the cliched 'fly on the wall'. This potion will, when consumed, allow me to follow my mind's thoughts and turn myself into whatever I choose and to change to other things as I see fit. I am not trapped into any one form. The flexibility is the newest element to this brew. Precision is necessary to ensure its accuracy and full potency. Hence the purification of the cauldron.

I draw water from my underground well using the pump. I fill the cup and drink, then refill it again so that it is ready for the next priming. The water is cold and fresh. Pure in its essence, as it has pulled through my own filtration system that I have developed. I fill the cauldron with two large pails full before setting back to wait for that familiar popping boil.

While I wait, I organize my ingredients. Eye of newt, frog and toad. Whiskers of squirrel and rat. Hair of bat and mole. Blood of royal line... that is my own. Royalty of the House of Barathon - nobody of my acquaintance knows of my ancestry that comes from lands far beyond our own.... not even that of my husband. I prepare to take my own blood sample to make the magic brew genuine and concentrated for my own use.

As I begin to add the ingredients, stirring after each new inclusion I saw the words history has passed down to me. It is a language not of this land. Learned at my mother's lap spoken in whispers. The words swirl around me adding their own stirring of the mixture. I watch as the liquid goes from the black shimmering of the pure water reflecting all and nothing to a florescent green. The aroma is strong at first, then dissipates as the liquid changes to a deep crimson, then to a royal purple. At that point it is ready. I swing the cauldron off the fire and let it cool. It will be days before I am able to try it but I feel certain it is perfect. I cover the mixture to make sure nothing falls in and contaminates it, then I return upstairs just in time to meet my husband at the door.

Border for my personal use.

30 Day Blogging Challenge

Daily decisions. For me it was making sure I paid my bills. Not much of a decision. It needed doing.
I am a list maker. I need to write out all the things that need doing to make sure I won't forget anything. If I try to do things without a list I can almost guarantee I will forget at least one item.

I find it I am going to do something I will organize my list to go in a particular order so that I make the trip with the least amount of extra driving. I loop my activities going to the farthest point and working my way back or considering my list and what might be closest to that area that I am supplying in. It is all in the plan.
