What Do I Look Forward To Each Week & Time Apart
Today's blogs...

Blog City - Day 233

What do you look forward to each week?

What do I look forward to each week? I don't have any set thing. I like to carve out time to write. There are times when I get a lot - like now, but there are also times when things are busier and I need manage my time to carve out those times.

I like making time to write in a coffee shop. Usually after I finish working with my client on Wednesday evenings, I go to Chapters and browse and then do some reading or writing before going home for 10 pm. It is not a lot of time but I like that bit of time. It is fun to people watch and just be around others. So often my writing is done at home while I sit at the couch. Getting out helps me feel connected.

I am looking forward to NaNoWriMo as it is the time of year other writers in my community come out and spend time writing in public venues. There is a planning session this Sunday. I am hoping to go. The kick off party is October 31 - Halloween and this year it is at a local bar/restaurant. I am so looking forward to it. I don't go out with friends very often so this will be a time to soak up the experience.

Border for my personal use.

30 Day Blogging Challenge

An interesting prompt thrown out there by BillieGail memory of Cheyenne
Do you really think time apart from your loved ones makes the heart grow fonder or do you think you can live without them?

I love my family but I also love my quiet solitude. Being a writer, I feel I can slip off and not notice the time away. I sometimes need to be conscious of making connections with my family.

I find I get overly anxious if I have not seen my husband for several days when he is on nights. Especially, if we have not communicated at all. Texting with BBM and the What's Up App help to keep us connected. It has been awhile since we have had any away time, but I do miss him if he's not around. I am more settled just knowing he is in the house at night especially.

When I think about any distance times, I find they revolve around anxiety at them being away. When my mother goes away on cruises, I feel an underlying anxiety, that I can not get in touch with her if I needed to, but if she goes away she usually leaves numbers where she can be reached.

I feel so much better when she is home... like things are right with the world. My mother lives about five minutes from me, but I do not see her or talk to her every day. I think it is just the knowledge that I can that settles me.

If my husband goes out for the evening with his buddies, I usually meet him at the door and ask if he had fun. I missed his presence, although I usually enjoy the time to myself. Times apart may let you appreciate your loved ones. I would not want to live without them. There is love, but also security in having them close.
