Hellgate wind and frigid

Bright this morning... in a white way. Maybe there are snow crystals in the air. Frigid. -18 degrees C. Hellgate breeze (from east) at 29kph.

I have no need to go anywhere.

Just a comment I left at Joy's blog:

I don't think of Costa Rica and culture. I'd say gossip and family and lying-so-no-one-is-upset describes it. It's a society that centers on the mother and do whatever you want (as long as your mother isn't upset). Music-art-architecture-literature seems to be borrowed. It's not that there isn't talent; it's just a lack of interest. I saw better street art in San Pedro than in Melbourne but Australians seemed proud of their artists while Ticos ignore them.

Where I grew up... they were foodies, lots of apples, neighborhoods, sport teams.

Here in Missoula... reading and writing, visual art and music, as in creating it not just consuming it."
