A bit on edge

I have major decisions to make this week about writing and traveling and cleaning and... nothing earth-shattering... just decisions. I'm not good at making decisions.

Since June 15th I've only missed 3 days in this blog. Once in September. Twice in December. I'm hoping to miss a day this June.

Got up after a nightmare.

Not a bad one, but still... I have been doing much better this year so I can't complain much.

I think traveling is on my mind and the new complexity due to covid restrictions is unnerving me.

Two tacos, two loaves of buttermilk bread, two quarts of chocolate milk. My outing was successful.

63 degrees at 1:53.

I walked between raidrops. Saw a rainbow on the way back with vivid indigo and violet.

Mailed a postcard to Sara. Bought butter and sugar.

BL is a genre in East Asia. It's written by women for young women. The main characters are two 'straight' men. Will they hook up? 'Shipping' (relationshipping, matchmaking) is the audience's game. It can actually be a brutal one that interferes with the actor's off-screen life.

But... good BL doesn't merely focus on that.

"He's coming to me" is a mystery. And since one of the leads just happens to be a ghost... the relationships are tangled. Mesmerizing and well acted. We know Med loves chocolate (since before he died); Thun loves steamed egg. Thun's mother is the thread that runs through their stories but that doesn't become evident until late in the story.

"1000 Stars" is an arc of redemption. Will Tian-the-rich-brat be changed once he is given Torfun's heart (transplant). Once he has fulfilled her wish will he seek his own. The music is astounding. Torfun loved Phupha... will Tian. Will Torfun's final wish come true. The villagers, the chief, the children, the doctor... all wonderful characters.

In both these TV series the characters develop and grow.
