Plenty of Time for Writing

Big surprise, it looks like I’m not going to be working for my former Security Company like I was supposed to be doing once I moved into our new house. They claimed all I needed to do was to get Transfer Paperwork from my old company location to my new one. This I have done. At least it should have been done. But I don’t know if it has or not.

When I went into the local office to get a new post, I was not only told I had to re-apply, but that wasn’t anything available right now. Luckily, I had another security company that I can apply to. I have the application for them. But I haven’t filled it out or turned it in. I’m going to turn it in tomorrow after I fill it out right after I finish writing and posting this blog entry.

I’m also keeping track of local city, state, and federal government clerical jobs. I would prefer to work in security because I will probably have a chance to work on my writing one way or another. Can’t do that with a clerical job. This is why I’m mostly looking for security work. But if I can’t do that, I will take a clerical job.

Unfortunately, it has taken me most of today to do all this running around. As a result, I haven’t been able to get any writing done on either of my scriptwriting projects. I have plenty of time to do it. Especially, since I’m not working right now. But I haven’t. At least not today. I’m going to try to start doing it. But not sure how much I’m going to be able to do. Even a little bit each day is better than no writing at all. Right?

As of this writing, I still don’t know what the prompt for the WDC Short Story Contest is for this month. I have been checking it every few hours all day today. And it still hasn’t come up. Unfortunately, I think that I was right about it being a day or two from yesterday. This means it may come out tomorrow. If we are lucky.

I’m hoping that it will come out sooner than tomorrow. But from past experience with this contest, I’m not going to count on anything until it happens. Once it finally does, I will decide what kind of Short Story I will write. A Science Faction Short Story or a non-Science Faction one. It all depends on what the prompt is and what the genre is for this month.
