Now Comes the Hard Part
Now Comes the Hard Part

Just finished creating and entering the contest for the WDC Short Shot contest for this month. I have also added my last assignment for the October Novel Prep Challenge that I’m participating in this year. I’m a winner too now. I just did it the hard way – one day at a time.

Now comes the hard part. Writing the novel ‘Professional Eliminators’ in one month. Not the whole novel. But the first ten chapters and the Introduction I will need to write if I want to reach my goal of fifty thousand words. It will actually be fifty-five thousand. It would be fifty if I didn’t write chapter ten also. I would rather end this challenge with eleven chapters instead of ten.

In order to write these chapters in one month I’m going to need to average just under eighteen fifty per day. That’s the equivalent of two parts of each chapter per day. That may be very hard for me to do. I have trouble getting a few hundred words to a thousand per day. Multiply that by almost two, which says I won’t be able to reach my goal during next month. Especially, during my three days off from work.

While at work, I may be able to get the two thousand words per day that I need. Especially, on the weekends when I got about eleven hours to work compared to around six on Thursday and Friday. Can I make up what I missed during my days off? I hope that I can. But it’s not looking too good at the moment.

There is one way that I may be able to do it. Probably not at home, but maybe while I’m at work. Then again, maybe not considering I have a speech problem. My Rs sound like Ss. What am I writing about? It’s voice recognition aka dictation. If I can use dictation, I might have a chance to reach my goal of fifty-five thousand words. But if I can’t, I probably won’t reach my goal this year either.

Whether I reach my goal or not, isn’t my only problem in writing this novel. It’s also how many entries I can put in a novel? I think that it’s a hundred. If that’s true, then I can continue where I left off with the October Novel Prep Challenge. After all, that will make my total of ninety entries in this folder when I finish this novel.

I know that there is a two-gigabyte limit to my novels, but I’m not sure what the folder entries are. I’m going to try to find out what those limitations are. But I may not be able to do that. The only other way is the start a new novel. And I would rather not do that. I know that I have twenty-five novel opportunities now. But I would rather not use one now if I can help it.
