An old Yale-type lock on weathered surface.


The Lock

The lock presents itself,
like an eye weeping
bitter, midnight tears,
streaming down a mottled skin
bloodstained with defence,
and offers, enigmatic,
in archèd brow,
a choice of gee or zee.
