BLEEDING WOUNDS
BLEEDING WOUNDS

[We often live for others, bitten, sucked and devoured by them]

I wish I could satisfy
All who crave a piece of mine.
Even though they devour me,
They remain unsatisfied.

Some say I am insipid,
Not suitable for their taste.
Some others who relish me
Clamour yet for more and more.

It seems I live but for them,
As though I don’t own myself.
I have nothing left for me.
I am possessed by others.

Maybe when they have sucked all
Of my vital energy,
I will be allowed to lick,
Then, at least, my bleeding wounds.
