Windy Wednesday
8 Baha’I 164 B.E. - Wednesday, March 28, 2007

It’s cold here in Vegas. The temperatures today will not get out of the sixties. It’s windy here as well. So in addition to the cold temperatures we have a wind chill factor. However, it is spring. I know this because Mohave Max exited his barrow yesterday. He’s looking for companionship. I’m sitting at the key board typing this while wearing a coat. I’m tired of the cold. I want to be warm again.

I’m going to wait until afternoon to get out, go vote and then go see my mother in the hospital. Maybe it will warm up by then. Besides I need to catch up on a couple of things I didn’t do yesterday.

I turned the central air off a few days ago. It wasn’t cold and I didn’t need the heat anymore (I thought). However, this happens every year. I don’t care how long I wait to turn the heat off. Once I do it gets cold again. I could wait until June to turn the heat off and it would still get cold again. I’m not turning the heat back on though. Once I turn it off it stays off, I don’t care how cold it gets. When the air is off the power bill goes down to an almost reasonable amount. Right now I’m the only person here, there is the cats of course, but they don’t complain about the cold. They are just as happy to curl up on a warm couch and go to sleep.

I probably should go to the hospital earlier, it’s going to be warmer there than here, but I have to finish some jobs I didn’t complete yesterday, make a couple of phone calls and do another load of laundry today. If I get those completed before I leave the house then I can concentrate on doing the dishes or writing when I get back. I think I’ll stay longer with Mom today and not go back this evening, but I’m not sure yet. If it is warmer in the hospital than here, I’ll stay as long as I can.
