My blog--I pull a card--if it doesn't speak to me...perhaps it is for you?

Divine Fools

signature created by Jem

What other card for today April Fool's Day----then the beginning/ending of the Tarot---the Fool.

All of the world's mystics were/are Holy Fools----the alpha/omega-----here in this world---operating effectively---yet knowing that there is an Ultimate Reality beyond the material world.

Those great mystics had achieved union with the Divine---had contacted their soul--and most have left maps for us to follow in their wake---St. Francis, Rumi, Emily Dickenson, Teresa of Avila, Julian of Norwich. I would also include "accidental" mystics----those poets and writers that are capable of cracking the heart open and allowing soul to pour through.

Be pleased, O God, to deliver me.
O Lord, make haste to help me.

Be pleased, O Love, to deliver me.
O Light, make haste to help me.

I started this Lenten season working with the archetypal image of the magickal child from Caroline Myss' archetype cards. I stumbled upon her recent book, "Entering the Castle"---an exploration of Teresa of Avila's guide to encountering our soul and union with the Divine.

Here, at April Fool's Day/Palm Sunday I recall Jesus' entry into Jerusalem upon an ass--he perhaps the Wisest Fool of all---so connected to the Divine--he surrendered his will and life totally.

I enter into Easter as a Wise Child---fervent, trusting, hoping---continuing on the journey.
