Bye-Bye Jagr

I didn't dare post this until the Buffalo Sabres defeated the Ranger's hockey team:

Bye-Bye Jagr

There once was a Sabre named Miller,
who tended the goal like a killer.
Goal! Drury. Goal! Vanak.
The Rangers in panic,
then Zubrus' hip hit. What a thriller!

I guess this would be in a New Englanduh's or New Yorkuh's voice:

Bye-Bye Jaguh

There once was a Sabuh named Milluh,
who tended the goal like a killuh.
Goal! Drury. Goal! Vanak.
The Ranguhs in panic,
then Zubruhs' hip hit. What a thrilluh!

Buffalo Sabres won 3-2 over the New York Rangers in the NHL playoffs on April 27, 2007 to go up 2-0 in their 7 game series. Miller was amazing in goal. Drury scored a goal to tie 2-2 and Vanek punched in the winning puck 10 minutes later. Zubrus had a "clean open ice hip check" that upended Jaromir Jagr and the Rangers were toast on tomorrow's menu. The Sabres won the series 4-2 on May 6th.

My Life

Called my mother. She is 85 today. My sister took her out to Betty's in Chippewa, Ontario for lunch. We talked about Greensburg, KS as it was a bit of a shock since she was a nurse in Greensburg, PA in the '40s and of course, I'm here in Kansas. She assured my other sister that I live nowhere close. My mother is an avid fan of CNN and the Weather Channel.

A bit perkier. Sitting by the window at Ray's. I just ground up some hazelnut coffee and made myself a cup.

I drug some clothes over here so I could do a wash. Tomorrow I'll need to get some food; although, there is enough here. Will need to check out dates on the items in the refrigerator. Ray'll be back on the 22nd.

Hmmmm ... can get wireless here by day. We'll see what it's like at night!

Low 70s, somewhat gloomy, but not as wet as some parts of Kansas. Topeka got 5" of rain yesterday and the Kaw (Kansas River) is rising.

At Rays: Dappled shade; dog bark; motorcycle; smell of laundry; birdsong; a sense of white inside; outside a sense of green; muted voices.

Meditation, inspiration, perspiration.

Brain freeze? Do you mean like 'nothing to write about'?

A list of 5 (learned from Scarlett) may help:

1. If your children were pets ... what would they be?
2. What is everybody's favorite color? Ask what it sounds or tastes like.
3. Ask friends and family ... what were you like when they/you were 10? What were their/your favorite things to do? What did they/you want to be? Especially ask anyone around 40: ... and did you do that? Why not now!
4. Visit an elderly neighbor and ask about mundane things like a/c, refrigeration, central heating, washing clothes, diapers *Laugh* or BIG events like the 'great' snowstorm/flood/fire/war/drought.
5. Choose a room or place outside and SEE it. Then make a list of what is sensed: seen, heard, smelled, touched, tasted ...

Just write about anything ... that's where the perspiration comes in.
