Lavender lies. What would a blind man see?

Lavender lies

In a Tuscan field in ancient times
under what bush did ye lie?
And where in a field of lavender
what tales were told, what lies?

For ye promised me a land of peace,
prosperity, freedom too.
But ye traded all for a field of oil,
paid off for yer privileged few.

So I'll spread white linen and hang white roses
and under the rose we'll talk.
Then I'll make a bouquet of lavender
and quickly send ye off

to the Tuscan hills and the Tuscan heat
where under a bush ye'll lie
and there ye can hiss to yer heart's content,
me safe from yer poisonous lies.

My life

I went shopping with Krista. Got canned goods and frozen items. I celebrated with a fish sandwich, an Italian-spiced-burger, fig bars and I'm thinking of that strawberry swirl ice-cream ... *Bigsmile* ... I don't like shopping, but I know where to find things in Aldis and it was quick in-and-out. Getting things up the steep back stairs was dicey though.

Straightened out that there was nothing to straighten out on my phone!

Yesterday was an anniversary of some sadness, so I had my recurring nightmare that I'm searching for a friend and can't find him. Time to call him, I guess.

Today is very warm, windy and uncomfortable for me. High 80s.

What might a blind man see?

The alley from Ben and Jerry's to Henry's:

buzz of the air conditioner; bird twitter; wet splash stepping in a pothole; ripe aroma of the dumpster; hot sun on the face at noon; nobby stapled surface of the transformer poles; drippy mist of a roof drain; square rough wood of a rail; smooth round metal rail; pebbly stuccoed wall; unevenness of the pavement; caress of leaves; squish of the mulberries underfoot (in season); smell of stale cigarette butts; rough brick; rougher fossiled quarried rock; smooth concrete block; voices from a delivery door, from above when the bar is open at night.

Said hello to CrashRandy who shares inspiration in "Invalid Entry; amaris; Vibha who has an interesting entry "Invalid Entry; Sunshine in Missouri; amandag580; Humming Bird .
