6 days to go....
Only 6 poems left to write for the 21-day challenge...
Today's poem was inspired by an on-line Bible study group I've joined exploring the book of Esther. It's an odd little book in the Old Testament, but much of the Old Testament is, well, odd. The Jewish Festival of Purim celebrates the happenings in this book and there is even a Jewish pastry, hamentaschen,
created to commemorate this occurrence.
I have become convinced that it is possible to craft a poem from anything and that daily writing keeps the creative fires stoked. Necessity may be the mother of invention but desperation and diligence are the parents of poem-making. Eschewing perfectionism is also important...
Esther is actually a variant of Ishtar, "star".....and I sense a connection between Esther of the Old Testament and Mary of the New.....both possessors of the deep, divine Feminine.
